X-chat: My preferred IRC client. I have used mIRC, XiRCON, the built in trillian client, bitchX and a few others. This one is definatly my preferred if I am operating within the windows environment. In a *nix environment, I tend to prefer bitchX due to it being, generally, just better. The windows versions have always seemed crippled to me.
Trillian: despite some programs trying to get rid of things like trillian by changing their settings now and again, it is my preffered client for IMs, fairly simple, very configurable, and useful.
StationRipper: there are a number of shoutcast rippers out there, both for video and audio. I never bothered to check if this one does video, but its awesome for radio.
Maxthon: This is my preferred browser. A bit better then IE and more functional then mozilla and firefox. Most definatly better then a lot of whats around.
Sysmetrix: really there isn't much that I need to say about this utility. Its a skinnable clock/resource manager/winamp/controller/whatever else you want that sits on your desktop. I currently have mine set up to control winamp, check my email, check the weather, tell the time, tell how much memory and cpu I am using, how full my drives are, empty out the recycling bin, and a host of other things.
Winamp: speaking of skinnable, the best mp3 player out there for non-intensive work. I often forget that mine is even there, or wouldif not for the music.
StyleXP: if you are using windows xp, then why would you stick with the ugly ass themes they give you? Unless its for work or some such where you might have little choice, I see no reason to use those things. Stylexp means you don't have to. It is a pay utility, but it is also damn good.
These are just some of the utilities that are going to be added. Consider it a beginning.
